Yarn Title: Spring Showers

The Supplies

The Supplies:

Ball of white twine - cotton/poly

White plastic grocery bags

Iridescent Christmas Tinsel

Horrible nylon costume wig

Plastic Pink Sparkle Fiber

Even the dog hates this wig!! It must be destroyed and reincarnated into something beautiful!!!
The Yarn
Spinning the plastic bags turned out a lot softer than I had expected. I used the white twine as a core and spun the bag strips around it adding randomly parts of the wig, tinsel and pink fibers.

I think from this picture this yarn looks so snugglely. Hard to imagine that it's 100% ( well at lest 98%) water proof. I'm pretty happy about the out come, now for the test...

Knitablity
It Knits!!! And since it is waterproof, I knit up a little shower cap.

I figured the band had to be tight to hold up the hair and not let too much water in. I have a very small head so I casted on 45 stitches onto size 10.5 circular needles. I knit in the round until the piece measured 3". Then I stitched on the plastic top. Quick and easy.

The trial run. It works surprisingly well. Just as good as a store bought one, I always have stray hairs in the back that I miss anyways, but the yarn is waterproof.

Non-Animal, Waterproof, Knitable, & Wearable - YES!
